Philosophy:
Architecture defines the interplay between people and landscape. Architecture arises from the actions of people. Action is movement and space is created from movement.
A building that consists only of functions is dead. A building consists of actions, of living processes, of movements.

This vitality must be captured:

• on the one hand it is the external movements
• the universe
• the landscape
• the seasons
• the light
• the paths and dwellings

and of course the inner movements:

• the construction that resists the forces of nature
• the processes of people’s actions
• but also the identity of the place as well as the company is created through processes of action over the course of decades and centuries.

It is not enough to create functions,
It must be possible to place people at the centre, to set the scene – because life is unique and too valuable to be wasted.
With this in mind, we have tried to realise all this content (people, their actions, their history and the landscape) in this building.

These contents become visible through the materiality, the construction, the special arrangement of the rooms and spaces and the design with the history of Patsch, told in a collage of historical photos by the well-known Tyrolean artist Nikolaus Granbacher.
I hope that the people of Patsch will revitalise this market and wish everyone a prosperous future. VM

Philosophie:
Architektur definiert das Zusammenspiel von Mensch und Landschaft. Architektur entsteht aus den Handlungen der Menschen. Handlung ist Bewegung und aus der Bewegung entsteht der Raum.
Ein Gebäude, das nur aus Funktionen besteht ist tot. Ein Gebäude besteht aus Handlungen, aus lebendigen Prozessen, aus Bewegungen.

Diese Lebendigkeit gilt es einzufangen:

• einmal sind es die äußeren Bewegungen
• das Universum
• die Landschaft
• die Jahreszeiten
• das Licht
• die Wege und Behausungen

und natürlich die inneren Bewegungen:

• die Konstruktion, die sich den Kräften der Natur entgegenstemmt
• die Handlungsabläufe der Menschen
• aber auch die Identität des Ortes, als auch des Unternehmens entsteht durch Handlungsprozesse im Laufe von Jahrzehnten und Jahrhunderten.

Es genügt nicht Funktionen zu schaffen,
sondern es muss gelingen, den Menschen in den Mittelpunkt zu stellen, in Szene zu setzen – denn das Leben ist einzigartig und zu wertvoll um verschwendet zu werden.
In diesem Sinne haben wir versucht, all diese Inhalte (der Mensch, seine Handlungen, seine Geschichte und die Landschaft) in diesem Gebäude umzusetzen.
Sichtbar werden diese Inhalte durch die Materialität, die Konstruktion, die spezielle Anordnung der Räume und Plätze und die Gestaltung mit der Geschichte von Patsch, erzählt in einer Collage historischer Fotos, durch den bekannten Tiroler Künstler Nikolaus Granbacher.
Ich hoffe, das die Bürger von Patsch diesen Markt beleben und wünsche allen eine prosperierende Zukunft. VM
